What day is it?  Come on you know.  Mike, Mike, Mike, Mike – what day is it?  Hump Day!!  It is the midpoint of the week, and we are just about at the midpoint of the month.  Hockey returns to the streets of Buffalo (albeit via the Traverse City Tournament) in just 22 days.  Training camp follows right after that, with preseason action, and the regular season following soon after.  Hockey my friends, is on the verge of returning.  I am excited about the fact of hockey returning, more so than I thought given the lockout last year and my utter just random blah feeling towards the sport this year.

The Buffalo Sabres are going to be young next year, no doubt one of, if not the youngest team in the league.  Are they going to be tough enough though? [Bleacher Report].

Were the Buffalo Sabres in on something much bigger at the draft?  [The Goose's Roost].

Still struggling with the new CBA and figuring out how it affects your hockey team?  Just need to brush up on our hockey acumen?  Get to know your NHL/NHLPA CBA better.  [Winging It In MoTown].

Dominik Hasek gets the snub from NHL.com – not included on the list of players traded too early in their career’s by teams that didn’t think they were valuable.  [Sports Media 101].

The Frozen Frontier – at least that’s what they are calling it in Rochester when the Amerks get to skate outdoors against the Lake Erie Monsters.
