Counting down the days, counting down the days…is it time for hockey yet? Hockey will return for the Blue and Gold in just over two weeks, with the Traverse City Tournament starting in just sixteen days, with the whirlwind of training camp and the preseason to follow shortly thereafter. There isn’t going to be much pressure for the Buffalo Sabres to perform this year, first year coach, rebuilding, suffering. But there is one player who will live in a pressure cooker this season, and that is Tyler Myers. Can he rebound and lead from the blue line like the team needs him to? [The Hockey Writers]
Players are ready for the start of the season, starting their intense workout regimes to prepare them for training camp. Cody Hodgson skated at BioSteel – he is preparing for camp but will he have a deal in place to get the ice time he needs to get ready for the season? [TheSpec.com]
What is Hodgson waiting for? His agent is watching the market to see how it plays out for other restricted free agents still holding out for contracts. Will Hodgson get the deal he will be happy with or will the bridge contract be what he ends up with? [Hockey Buzz].
Is the NHL really considering adding international teams to the competition for the Stanley Cup? I think this is a piss poor idea if Eklund is sorting it out properly.
