Friday!  Friday!  Pay day!  Pay day!

Ah, Friday – now that I’m back to work, I appreciate how awesome you are once again.  I’ve missed you, old friend – good to be back.

Speaking of “good to be back” – there’s hockey being played!  Yahoo!  Let’s get into the links, then, as they are sure to include actual news!

If you didn’t catch this yesterday, the Calgary Flames have hired Brian Burke as their new president of hockey operations.  [TSN] Which begs the question, if he was available, the Buffalo Sabres failed to approach him because . . . ?

Speaking of Calgary: it’s good to see the Saddledome getting ready to begin hosting events again.  [TSN]

We all know that the trade rumors will be swirling over the heads of Ryan Miller and Thomas Vanek this season – but no one understands what this means better than ex-Sabre Brian Campbell, who shares his thoughts on that topic.  [The Buffalo News]

Maple Leafs RFA Nazem Kadri is still waiting to get paid.  He, along with Buffalo RFA Cody Hodgson, might want to heed the advice of Logan Couture of the San Jose Sharks.  [Sportsnet]  Just one more reason to want Couture to come play for Buffalo!

Want to be depressed?  No?  Then ignore this ranking of every NHL team’s power play unit! [Bleacher Report]

Finally, get all of your post-game interviews and such from the players who played in yesterday’s 3-2 victory over the Columbus Blue Jackets in Traverse City, Michigan here.   [Sabres.com]

Enjoy!
