Happy humpday, Buffalo Sabres fans!

Yep – it’s Wednesday, and I’m feeling pretty good.  And why shouldn’t I be?  The Sabres are 2-0 (of course, it’s just the preseason).   I’m about halfway through my work week (although my weekend will be busier than my work week!).  I just won the lottery!  (That’s not even close to being true.)

And I have . . . the links!  Onward!

For starters, get caught up on all of last night’s preseason hockey here!  [TSN]

Things are starting to get interesting down in Florida, as Tim Thomas is in the building!  [TSN]

More Tim Thomas!  [Sports Illustrated]  Sorry, but he is an interesting figure.

A group of players were asked to rank the NHL’s best goalies.  Here are the results. [ESPN]

Fans in Toronto may be ready for the regular season to begin, with the hopes that their team can erase memories of last year’s epic collapse in game 7 against the Bruins, but as this article points out, the fans were the ONLY thing that resembled the regular season in the Maple Leafs preseason home opener.  [Sporting News]  Whoops!

Not sure how this counts as news over at Bleacher Report, but here’s a look at a very, ah, interesting goalie mask.  Do the folks over at b/r know that teams are playing hockey?!?

Last: Die By The Blade continues their series on their All-Star Buffalo Sabres team.  Today’s focus: goaltenders.

Get over the hump, and enjoy!

I don’t get too excited about best “goalie in the NHL” selection, because, as a Sabres’ fan I know that the defense has more to say in preventing scoring than the goalie. There a lot of good goalies, but they only look good if their defense is good.
