Buffalo Sabres Assign Five To Rochester Americans

Buffalo Sabres General Manager Darcy Regier announced today that the Buffalo Sabres have assigned five more to the Rochester Americans.

Daniel Catenacci, Jerome Gauthier-Leduc, Tim Schaller and Phil Varone will now report to the Rochester Americans.  Jamie Tardif will also report to the Buffalo Sabres top AHL team, but must clear waivers before he can report.

The Buffalo Sabres have also released from his professional tryout contract Colton Gillies.

Faceoff for the Buffalo Sabres and Toronto Maple Leafs is 7PM tonight.  All of the Buffalo Sabres roster moves today and leading up to today – have been players that have not appeared in the pre season contests.

The Buffalo Sabres still have some  roster work to do; still thiry-six players remain on the training camp roster, another 13 players will need to be assigned to Rochester, junior clubs, or released from their contracts.

The list of 35 includes three goaltenders in Ryan Miller, Jhonas Enroth, and Matt Hackett.  It is likely that Hackett will be released to the Rochester Americans before too long.

Twenty forwards remain on the roster, as well as twelve defenseman.  The Buffalo Sabres have until the final days of training camp to reduce the roster to a maximum of 23 players.

The Buffalo Sabres have two games left on the pre season schedule after this home and home with the Toronto Maple Leafs.
