Buffalo Sabres fans: we’re so close to the regular season, I can almost taste it.

What does a regular season of NHL hockey taste like, you say?  Don’t ask.  It’s a difficult taste to describe, honestly.  If I had to guess, I would say a combination of wet leather, salt, Old Spice, and hair gel.  But that’s just a guess.

Onto the links!

Before the regular season gets here, the NHL has to mop up the pre-season.  Here’s your source for all of the games that went down on the second-to last night of pre-season play. [TSN]

Along with the start of the NHL regular season, we have the fun that is fantasy hockey!  If you’re still trying to build an elite team, check out this list of sleepers at every position. [Bleacher Report]

And, if you’re still ranking players, here’s the newest list of risers, and fallers. [Puck Daddy]  Is fallers even a word?

Optimism abounds as the regular season approaches.  Every fan has reason to believe that this year is going to be the best one ever for his/her team!  Thank the stars we have writers who bring us back down to earth with power rankings!  [Bleacher Report] Hey – it’s never too early to dash our hopes.

The Buffalo Sabres were pretty confident when they made their first pick in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft.  Rasmus Ristolainen has done nothing to shake that confidence, and as a result he will be on the roster come opening night.  [WGR 550]

Wanna know how the Atlantic Division is going to look this season?  [Sports Illustrated] Well of course you do!

Finally, the Sabres will finalize their roster tomorrow.  There are still a few questions left to be answered, as Die By the Blade points out.

Enjoy your Sunday, and let’s go Buffalo!
