It is the last day of September, and the weather has been absolutely phenomenal lately.  Funny story to start the week, golfed on Friday – and while looking through my favorite

rough on hole three at Delaware Park Golf Course – I found my wife’s debit card that I had lost while playing that same hole two weeks earlier.  My first thought was what are the odds – my golf partner said well the odds are pretty good since your the only person I know that hits this wooded area every time we play this hole.  Well played buddy, well played.

Just one more roster move to come today as the team is only one player above the roster limit after waiving Alexander Sulzer and Luke Adam.  [Rochester D&C].

Not all the top prospects are staying in the NHL this year, the Tampa Bay Lightning are taking the patient role with 3rd overall pick Jonathan Drouin, sending him to Halifax to start the season – amid a busy waiver wire season. [NHL].

Former Buffalo Sabres defenseman T.J. Brennan hits the waiver wire along with John-Michael Liles from the Toronto Maple Leafs.  [USA Today].

The preseason is over, and rosters are taking their final cuts as teams prepare for the regular season.  Here are some bold predictions for the 2013-2014 season.  [Bleacher Report].

The preseason and training camp is a learning curve for the league as well as players and teams.  Did you learn anything in the pre season this year? [NHL].

If you have watched hockey since birth, then you shouldn’t be questioning many of these items.  Hockey year round?  That would be a gift from hockey gods.  Unbalanced conferences?  If you can’t see the league is setting themselves up for expansion, instead of another messy realignment in two years – then I think it is time to reevaluate if you really understand the NHL.  [Washington Post].

Just one more day – tomorrow officially starts the regular season.  Game on!
