Ville Leino Injured - Out Indefinitely

The Buffalo Sabres have not made it official yet, but the word is out on Twitter, Ville Leino is sidelined with another injury – this time a cracked rib.

It apparently happened in the first period, according to head coach Ron Rolston.  If that is the case then Ville Leino played the entire game with the injury.  I could see that happening, as Leino was largely ineffective and invisible during the game- and it wasn’t until he skated in front of the camera while on the ice that I even realized he was playing.

The injury paves the way for another youngster to get ice time, as Johan Larsson, who impressed during training camp will move in and play center.

The Buffalo Sabres just got younger.

If Buffalo Sabres GM Darcy Regier was wise, the minute Ville Leino is cleared to play again, something has to be done with Ville Leino.  The Sabres could not buyout his contract over the summer because he was still injured and not cleared – but that could change this off season.  While it doesn’t help them with the salary cap as you can’t hide players anymore – I am even willing to loan him to a European team or the Rochester Americans – him getting claimed off waivers is just an easy way of getting rid of him as well.

Is this man made of straw? Goodness. I feel bad for him, but that doesn’t mean we need to keep him around.

      exactly rich.

The Timmy Connolly award for being made of glass goes to Ville Leino. Now bring Adam back up until Foligno is better.

    i like it, Go Larsson!!

This is getting really ridiculous. Like I just don’t mean ridiculous, I mean REALLY RIDICULOUS!!!

Buy him out once he’s better. No one in there right minds would take him after these injuries he keeps suffering. I think people look towards Stafford before they did Leino (Now that’s bad). Him and Stafford should be bought out at seasons end and if they aren’t Darcy’s an even bigger idiot then people already think he is.

Had high hopes for this guy this year. Oh well sign of things to come I guess.

i could care less what leino and stafford do with their careers. as long as we arent over the cap because of them im fine with them underperforming. that gives room to players who should be playing. larsson is now centering Ott and Ennis. now thats a decent line
