Poll: Is Ryan Miller Back?

Would all of the Ryan Miller critics and haters please stand up and after his performance in the first two games there really shouldn’t be many of you. Through the first two games of the season Ryan Miller has not look washed up, too old, overrated or lost. What he has looked like is phenomenal, outstanding and back to his Vezina form and I don’t want to gloat but I told y’all so.

I’ve taken a lot of flack for being a Miller backer and never giving up hope on the netminder but a goaltender doesn’t just go from the best in the world to washed up. Sure Miller may have had a couple weaker season’s but can you blame him with the team in front of him? A goaltender, as we learned last night, kind of needs his teammates to score for him and play defence around. That hadn’t been happening the last two season’s.

Fast forward to this season and I know it’s only 2 games in, but Ryan Miller appears to be back. He’s faced 80 shots through the first 2

games and has stopped 77 of them for a .96% Save Percentage. It sure as heck isn’t his fault the Buffalo Sabres are 0-2. Through the first 6 periods of the 2013-2014 season the Sabres have put up just 1 goal… 1 goal, that doesn’t win many hockey games.

Anyways Miller has looked fantastic keeping the Sabres in both of the first two games when they really had no business being so. From stopping penalty shots to flashing the leather, there isn’t much getting by the netminder who is playing for the right to the Olympic crease. In fact if he can keep this kind of play up, I don’t see him not playing in the Olympics. He’s got the experience and he’s on top of his game right now.

The Sabres this year are young and are going to make mistakes, they need someone between the pipes who is able to keep them in games and make them look good. Miller has been keeping this team in games and it’s shaping to up to be a season full of 1-goal games where Miller stands on his head.

Miller has looked awfully good and many are starting to compare him to his Vezina campaign once again, so it begs the question; Is Ryan Miller back? It sure looks like it early on. Maybe, at least for now, we can put the truck carrying Miller out-of-town on park for a bit and let the guy show us what he’s capable of.

I know I am answering after his supposed injury, but I have to admit he was off to an all star start of the season for sure. I don’t see how he could have done anything better for his team. He controlled both games. Looked like the silver medal winner of 2010 in both games. What else can be said. I hope whatever is keeping him out is nothing serious.

same here… I’m pretty worried about this injury. Hopefully it’s nothing major

I knew you’d be the one to write this article. But it’s been 2 games so way to early to be asking this question, ask around Christmas time. IMO he will do great this year on the GAA and SV% side of things. But wins not so much. He has to do good this year. He might possibly be playing for the last Olympics he can be part of (Considering his age and talent of the other American goalies in the league) and he’s playing for that huge contract that will take him into retirement. I’m hoping he keeps this play up, we can get a lot more for him at deadline day.

hahah you know me so well… I also figured you’d chime in on this article. I agree he has no choice but to have a solid year. His numbers will be solid but his Wings will suffer with the team in front of him.
