Aside from Miller who has been lights out, it’s pretty tough to find other players who put out impressive performances over the past week. Zemgus Girgensons has arguably been the Sabres best forward and most consistent player through the first three games and he may even spend some time on the top line alongside Thomas Vanek and Cody Hodgson tonight as a reward. Girgensons has looked fantastic on the ice and the best part is he’s still young. He’s going to fill-out more and he’s going to mature further and when he does, look out.

Out of all the rookie and youngsters in the line-up Girgensons has perhaps shown that he fits in best. He doesn’t look like a young player out on the ice. His physical presence and hockey IQ is shining through and he has many fans excited for his future.

He’s put up just 1 point through three games but it’s the little things he does that attracts everyone’s attention. The backchecking, shot blocking and tape-to-tape passes make this kid a force to be reckoned with. He’s tied for the team lead in scoring, not bad for a rookie who had to battle hard for his spot eh?

You almost have it about right. I believe top 3 should easily be given to whoever scores for this horrid offense and to the goalie who’s keeping these pucks out of our net for the most part. I’d say…
    1. Miller
    2. Girgensons
    3. Vanek
    Honorable Mention
    Grigorenko
Enroth (No matter what others say, he played awesome against probably the best team in the league. He had absolutely no help defensively. Everyone blames the defense when Miller struggles like nobodies business and it’s all Enroth’s fault when he loses? lol Like I said too many Enroth haters on this site.)

I think Enroth had a solid outing for sure, but it was just one… he definetely get’s an honourable mention
I just think Vanek’s been off to a rough start… haven’t seen much from him

It usually is Enroth’s fault when he loses, because he is often out of position where he can easily be scored on.

and gives up pretty jouicy rebounds

    The 3 stars were actually:

    1. Miller
    2. Enroth
    3. Al Cohol

    • Jes

love that last one. should be first.

    • Caitlin Campbell

Cohol? Cody Hodgson? He has 1 assist… and hasn’t shown up to play as of yet
