Week two is under way in the National Hockey League – will the Buffalo Sabres pick up the pace and join the rush for teams adding points to the win column? I have been
thinking a lot lately about what this team needs, and I think the overhaul has to go much higher than Jason Pominville and a few new young draft picks peppered into the lineup. Oh you all already knew that? Ok, moving on then.
Opening the season against the Ottawa Senators, Pittsburgh Penguins, and Detroit Red Wings are probably an unfair assessment of the Buffalo Sabres. [WGR550].
Some good news out of First Niagara Center – Marcus Foligno is ready to play and will be inserted into the lineup. Ryan Miller could also play tonight, but will backup Jhonas Enroth if he isn’t 100%. [Sabres.com].
If Foligno is back – I hope they put him on the top line and get Drew Stafford down the depth chart where he belongs, even though were paying him enough to be producing.
Despite how bad the first three games could have been, Buffalo was able to hang in their against two of the top three teams in the East. If it wasn’t for just a matter of seconds against Detroit – that game could have been different. 0 for 13 on the power play is another dirty word in Buffalo right now. Rookies have shown promise, and for some – that’s enough in a suffering year. [Die By The Blade].
Why does a rebuild in Buffalo take longer than other cities? Million dollar question.

Week 2 power rankings have the Buffalo Sabres in 30th. Only room for growth at this point right? [Bleacher Report].
