That elusive win is still out there, as two leads were quickly washed away, one with the help of the referee as the Buffalo Sabres fall to the Tampa Bay Lightning in overtime

– but hey at least we got a point last night right?  Another loss on a night that our goaltending gave the team enough to win.  Four games down and 78 to go.

Some games it has been hard to pick a star player outside of the goaltender, so what are the odds that the Buffalo Sabres MVP will come from the youth movement – or the small core of veterans leading the team? [Bleacher Report].

If you didn’t watch last nights game – it was entertaining to a point, and we came so close, but the Lightning were able to rally.  [Fox Sports].

Elation would have been the feeling in the locker room if they Buffalo Sabres could have held on to their lead.  In a somewhat twisted way, the penalty kill that has been good was out performed by the power play which has been bad – and down the rabbit hole we go even further – this time, a little more irritated.  [Buffalo News].

How much longer does Drew Stafford have in a Buffalo uniform?  He played well last night – but the problem lies within.  This organization is hell bent on rekindling old successes – it has been two years since Marcus Foligno, Tyler Ennis, and Stafford were a successful line.  It has been 15+ years with Darcy Regier, and now it has been a long and grueling (although physically short) road with Ron Rolston – or as I have begun calling him, Darcy Regier jr. You don’t like seeing your team on the bottom of any list – but here they are again in another power ranking, down to number 30.  [CBS Sports].
