Well, Buffalo Sabres fans, it’s Friday.  Of course, with the taste of last night’s game still in your mouth, this morning might resemble a hangover a little more than you’d like, but I’m sure you can power through the work day and escape to the weekend just fine.

Just to be safe, however, I am about to serve up a huge dose of links for you – sustenance for your recovery!

Let’s do this!

There was plenty of NHL action last night, some of it entertaining.  Head over to TSN for your recaps.

Buffalo’s Patrick Kaleta has a meeting he would probably like to skip out on today.  [TSN] Kaleta in trouble – shocking.

Here’s a good read on why statistical analysis is showing fighting the door in the NHL. [Sports Illustrated]

In case you missed it, here are SI’s first batch of power rankings for the 2013-2014 NHL season.  This is really only worth your time if you have a few other teams you like to follow.  Otherwise, you’re just torturing yourselves.

Did you catch the crazy goal Tomas Hertl scored the other night against the Rangers?  Washington Capitals head coach Adam Oates sure did – and was not pleased with what he saw.  [Sporting News] Talk about a buzzkill.

Speaking of Hertls’ goal, I bet you heard what Jumbo Joe Thronton said he would do if he scored four goals in one game.  Was the reporter who shared that comment out of line?  [Puck Daddy]

Have you said to yourself, “Well, with 4-5 games in the books for each team right about now, I wonder how all of the top stars in the NHL are doing so far?”  You have – seriously?  Well, here are your answers! [Bleacher Report]

Finally, a Buffalo Sabres-related link (no!).  This piece comes from a Sabres fan in Canandaigua, who would like to offer you your latest reality check.  [Hockey Buzz] As if we have not had enough of those already!

Stay safe, readers!
