Good morning, Buffalo Sabres fans/NHL aficionados/Sabre Noise readers/people who are annoyed at my use of /!
I know this is not a good time to be a fan of the Sabres. The team is 1-7-1, and is the butt of many jokes; rumors are swirling that the GM is in hot water (this is good news, in my opinion); and two of the best players the Sabres have on the roster, Thomas Vanek and Ryan Miller, are almost certainly up for sale.
But don’t fret . . . because I have today’s links!
There were 200 games played in the NHL last night – true story! Get all of your recaps here. [TSN]
Tomas Hertl got a little bit of flack for showing off during his four-goal outburst against the New York Rangers next week. Lighten up, fuddy-duddies! the NHL could use more players like him. Need a reminder? Here: the top ten most exciting players in the NHL. [Sports Illustrated] Prepare to drool!
Just yesterday I posted a link that asked whether the Toronto Maple Leafs were as good as their record suggested. No one will be asking that if these types of plays keep happening! [Puck Daddy]
Few words in the English language cause me to perk up like the word “sniper” can! Here’s a list of the 10 greatest snipers in NHL history. [Bleacher Report] Ten times the snipery goodness!
There’s no doubt about it: the Sabres have been hanging their goalies out to dry, and last night Ryan Miller was their latest victim. [Hockey Buzz]
Finally, let’s end on a positive note. One of the surprises so far this year has been the play of Drew Stafford. Can he build off of his recent success? [WGR 550]
Have a good one!
