After a busy week, the Buffalo Sabres have a three days off before they are back into the swing of things, as they close out the month with several away games. With just three games this week, the Sabres entertain on Wednesday, before heading to their annual trip to Florida. Will owner Terry Pegula treat the team to another day at the track to break up the madness that has been the month of October so far? Here’s a look at this weeks schedule.Wednesday October 23 8PM : Boston Bruins (5-2-0)
The Boston Bruins comes to town on Wednesday – as the Sabres try to snap their second losing streak of the season, which is at two games after dropping contests to Vancouver and Colorado at First Niagara Center. Fans are getting restless and chant’s of “Fire Darcy” are getting louder and louder. How bad will it be when a division rival comes to town?
Friday October 25 7:30PM : Florida Panthers (3-6-0)
Last season the Florida Panthers turned it around and broke a playoff drought streak. This year they are only slightly better than the Buffalo Sabres. This might be the first visit for the Sabres to Sunrise Florida where their are more Sabres fans in attendance than when the team is in Buffalo. Can the Buffalo Sabres offense find something going against the Panthers that have a goal differential of -12 – only three better than Buffalo?
Saturday October 26 7PM : Tampa Bay Lightning (5-3-0)
The top of the Atlantic is pretty tight, with five teams at double digit points – the Lightning one of those teams. The Metropolitan division has the fewest number of points, with Atlantic and Central division boasting 71 – and the Pacific finding strength and running with 7 7 points. Can the Lightning keep up this pace and reach the post season and try for Stanley Cup number 2?
