Well the emotional return for Lindy Ruff has come and gone for the Buffalo Sabres – their next big one will be when Thomas Vanek returns with

the New York Islanders – and for Matt Moulson when the Buffalo Sabres visit the Island themselves.  Still looking for their first home win of the season, the Buffalo Sabres are still a long ways off from a good hockey team.

Being in Buffalo now doesn’t change the fact that Matt Moulson is staring down unrestricted free agency this July – Buffalo can only benefit from that relationship.  [The Washington Post].

Moulson scores two in his debut with the Buffalo Sabres, but the Stars get goals from four different players to beat the Sabres 4-3.  My question is – how irrelevant do you have to be in the league that CBS Sports is still using your old logo (look at the scoring summary) [CBS Sports].

Regier says a deal moving Ryan Miller is not imminent, and that the Vanek deal has been available for a while.  [ESPN].

The Vanek trade is good for the fans – who need the proverbial band aid ripped off quickly for the rebuild to really take shape, but with all that going on, Ryan Miller still depressed over the loss of another teammate and friend.  [The Buffalo News].

Are the St. Louis Blues thinking Ryan Miller for a deeper run in the Stanley Cup Playoffs? [CBS Sports].

Week five power rankings are out – without question the worst team in the league is still pulling the cart at number 30.  [Bleacher Report].
