In my opinion, the odds of the Sabres taking on the Patrick Kaleta clean-up project are slim to none. The organization already has its hands full with
trying to develop young talent, a pool made up both of players currently in the NHL (Cody Hodgson, Nikita Zadorov, Rasmus Ristolainen, Zemgus Girgensons, Johan Larsson, etc.) and players who will probably be in the NHL within the next year or so (Joel Armia, Matt Hackett, Chad Ruhwedel, and so on). Whether it is right or wrong, the Sabres seem to be sending Kaleta the message that he is no longer wanted by this organization, even should he make good on his promise to change his style of play. Time will tell whether he can do reform his game, but it would appear that his time as a Sabres player is over.
