What a difference waking up after a win huh?  Sure it doesn’t change the outlook of the season, but it gives you just that little bit extra knowing

your Buffalo Sabres pulled a win out last night – on home ice – for the first time this season.

Jonathan Quick was injured in the overtime period, and it forced Ben Scrivens into action to try and save the game cold.  [CBS Sports].

Did anyone else think that the refs gave Quick a longer time than usual to get back on his feet or get off the ice?

The Kings will take their lumps against the Sabres – because it was not too long ago they were in the same position as the Buffalo based hockey club. [Niagara Gazette].

It seems like the top line responded well to their benching, but it probably isn’t a tactic that is going to make Ron Rolston a favorite in the locker room. [Buffalo News].

Ray Emery has a heavy weight reputation – and wouldn’t have crossed the line to fight if it meant a ten game suspension.  Regardless, action on goalie fights has been tabled till Spring.  [USA Today].

Are the logos for the Stadium series going chrome?  Looks like the NHL will keep the retro/throwback look for the Winter and Heritage Classic – while making the Stadium Series sweaters robotic.  Domo arigato, Mr. Roboto? [Ice Thetics].
