Daily Dasherboard November 19, 2013

Well it is another game day at First Niagara Center – which means two things, the Buffalo Sabres are back on

the ice and there will be plenty to talk about here on SabreNoise!

First off – have you seen the new look of FanSided sites?  If not checkout the layout at our Chicago Blackhawks site Blackhawk Up.  Very soon we will be rolling this format out across the rest of the NHL.

Now on to your daily dose of links about your Buffalo Sabres and the National Hockey League.

What do the Buffalo Sabres have to do to win? Do they really want to win – or is the last place and top spot in the draft lottery their ultimate goal for this season? [Yahoo Sports].

The NHL is full of nicknames – and John Scott comes out with an RJ worthy nickname for the Toronto Maple Leafs captain Dion Phaneuf – or Princess Phaneuf. [CBS Sports].

Fans in Toronto are taking the Princess Pheaneuf comments a lot harsher than Dion himself [Pro Hockey Talk].

Is sitting Jhonas Enroth because Ted Nolan has seen enough of his talent really fair? Has he not watched any film on the Buffalo Sabres to date – or read anything about how the Buffalo Sabres goalie tandem (that’s two Ted) has been the highlight of the season? [RotoWire].

Here’s a power ranking of the top ten goalie masks of the 2013-2014 season so far. Oh, and riddle me this Batman – because I don’t pay that close attention to the back of every mask – when did Ryan Miller drop the Bull Dog logo from the back of his mask? [Bleacher Report].

Are roster moves coming that would hint at the end of the season (for now) for many of the young players that were hoping to form the future core of this team? Chalk up another potentially wasted year of Mikhail Grigorenko’s deal. [Pro Hockey Talk].

Anyone else notice the new coach in Quebec where Grigorenko has to return to if the Sabres demote him is another former Buffalo Sabres?

Keep it tuned here all day for more pre and post game coverage for your Buffalo Sabres.
