Happy Thanksgiving to all our American readers! Hopefully you all have a short work week and a week filled with good eats and good people as we draw the month of November closed. The Buffalo Sabres play four games this week – all against Eastern Conference teams, two games in the Atlantic Division, and two games in the Metropolitan Division.
Sunday November 24 5PM Detroit Red Wings
The Buffalo Sabres kick off three straight home games with an early evening contest against the Red Wings. Nothing special about this game – although it is the first time the Red Wings visit the First Niagara Center as members of the Eastern Conference. It will also be the debut game for the Sabres alternate “gold” sweater that has drawn much ire from the fanbase. This is the second meeting of the two teams. Buffalo dropped a 2-1 decision to the Red Wings on the first night of the season. Detroit is playing in Buffalo after facing the Ottawa Senators the night before.
The sweater also goes on sale that day in the Sabres store.
Wednesday November 27 7PM Montreal Canadiens
Despite playing a quarter of the season so far – this is the first meeting between the Buffalo Sabres and Montreal Canadiens. Montreal has quietly held down a playoff spot this year – and should be an interesting test for the Sabres.
Montreal will be fresh for this game, having four days off since playing the Pittsburgh Penguins on Saturday.
