Sabres – Canadiens: Fan Chatter!

Sabres fans, it’s game day!

<cue sound of crickets>

Yes, yes – I know.  It’s hard to get excited about a Sabres’ game right now.  The question is, though, what else are you going to do tonight?  Watch the NBA?  Organize your underwear drawer?  Clean the house before guests arrive on Thanksgiving?

Hogwash!  Suit up, sit down, strap in, and shut up!  The Sabres are on tonight!

There actually is a good reason to tune in and watch tonight’s game, and that would be the potential Olympic goalie preview we could be treated to if Ryan Miller and Carey Price start for their teams (as of the time I published this, Miller had been named the starter).  Most hockey writers have Miller and Price making Team USA and Team Canada, respectively, so if Price gets the start tonight, we’re in for a close game with plenty of highlight reel-worthy saves.  That alone is worth the three hours of my life this game will command tonight!

Now let’s get down to brass tacks!

Questions to consider:

1. Will either goalie notch a shut-out tonight?

2. Ville Leino and Drew Stafford have been working hard lately – can either one of them score tonight?

3. Final score?

Come at me, bros!

Dammit it, I want to pick a Miller shut-out in the worst way. Can’t do it, although I say the game goes to Montreal 2-1. I’m rolling the dice here: Leino gets his first of the season!

    • Jes

your banned from predicting those for Miller lol.

My shutout predictions are no worse than your 5-1 picks! One of these days, it’s gonna happen!

        • JHizzle75

Hey 5-1 isn’t out of the question yet.
          Leino came close…

            I know – guy can’t catch a break.

Im gonna think fantastically but realistically, neither goalie will get a shutout, sadly, as much as id like for miller to get a goose egg. I actually think both will score tonight, but ill lean on leino to get a goal over stafford, and the final will be 3-1 Buffalo, the third goal being in an empty net

CP, No, 2-0 Montreal [Done being optimistic]

You STARTED the season optimistic? Bully for you, sir!

My one game exact score prediction streak was snapped the other day, so I’m going to try to get back on the winning track with a prediction of a 3-2 Buffalo victory.
    Stafford will score.

  • Jes

    Sabres win 5-1

    1. Nope.
    2. Both find the back of the net.
    3. See above

I know that’s your general answer but no way the Sabres score 5 tonight, Habs allow the second least goals a game against in the league. They’ll be lucky to get 2

      • Jes

        lol you never know.

        • Caitlin Campbell

lol after that powerless 4 minute powerplay I’m pretty sure haha

  • Yannick Cloutier

Buffalo wins it 3-2 in shootout, just like 75% of every game between these 2.

  • Caitlin Campbell

I’m going the same as Sean here, 3-1 for the Habs and that 1 will be hard to come by with the Habs solid netminding. Miller plays strong, Foligno or Ott pot the lone goal but the Sabres ultimately fall to the Habs winners of now 4 straight
