continuing their Atlantic Division play.

Playing a strong game throughout, Buffalo earned a notch in the win column with a 2-1 shootout victory over the visiting Senators.

Tonights three stars of the game are as follows:

Third Star: Christian Ehrhoff- Ehrhoff played a very strong game tonight both defensively and offensively. If there was an offensive rush, Ehrhoff was guarding the blue line, able to fire off 5 shots and get the assist on the Girgensons goal. Also if there was a rush by the Senators, then Ehrhoff was placing himself to make a play either way, stopping a large amount of chances that could have resulted in more shots on Miller, and potentially allowing more goals. If most if not every defenseman played like Ehrhoff did, then there is no telling where we could be by the end of the season.

Second Star: Ryan Miller- Facing 36 shots tonight and only allowing one goal is pretty impressive. Considering that Miller has been on his game all season, it is nice to see him get another win, granted they have come in a small amount this year. But tonight was no exception, Miller was outstanding tonight, fighting off a very strong Ottawa team. Not to mention his shootout play was impeccable, sure he let three goals by, but he turned on to make some amazing saves.

First Star: Zemgus Girgensons- Scoring Buffalo’s only goal in regulation and the winner in the shootout definitely earns this kid the number one spot. This is the second game in a row that Girgensons has scored, notching the last Buffalo goal against Montreal and then the equalizer tonight. The team has put a lot of pressure and faith in the young forward and he has received the message and in turn is playing to the best of his ability. Number 28 has turned on the heat! His energy tonight was one to be commended, he skated hard, threw the hits he needed to throw, and was just all around what was needed from him!

How about that whistle, eh?
