Yes, yes yes!
Sabre Noise readers, I have either overdosed on my medication today, or I am feeling pretty excited about tonight’s game between the Buffalo Sabres and their divisional rivals, the Boston Bruins.
Whenever these two teams play, it seems like we fans are treated to a tightly-contested match-up, and the occasional fireworks. Despite the fact that the Bruins are sitting on top of the Atlantic Division with a 23-9-2 record and 48 points, and the fact that the Sabres are dead-last in this division, I have seen enough improvement on the Sabres’ end that I honestly believe that Buffalo will take at least one of the two games in this home-and-home set they begin tonight.
The most interesting storyline of the evening, in my opinion, is whether the Sabres will play John Scott today. Scott was a healthy scratch the other night against Winnipeg, and with the forward combinations working as well as they did against the Jets, interim coach Ted Nolan has already said that if Scott plays he probably will be used on defense. How much of this “Will he play or won’t he” is based on what happened with Scott the last time these two teams met, I don’t know. It is worth paying attention to, however.
Questions to ponder:
1. Hey – will John Scott play? And if so, how many fights will he get in, since I bet the Bruins will target him?
2. Odds Ville Leino scores?
3. Final score when it is all said and done?
