The Buffalo Sabres are back in action on the eve of Christmas eve as they welcome the Phoenix Coyotes to town for their last game before Christmas. When the Buffalo Sabres woke up this morning, many of them got an early and unwanted present from Santa as the flu has officially hit the Sabres.
At least 5 players called Ted Nolan to let him know they couldn’t get out of bed for the pre-game optional skate and as a result Johan Larsson is back in Buffalo with Mark Pysyk. Newly acquired Sabre, Linus Omark was one of the players with the flu.
The Biggest problem for the Sabres is that if they don’t have enough players healthy enough to play, they are unable to recall players from the Rochester Americans because they’ve flown out for the Spengler Cup. We could even see John Scott on the blue line or Tyler Myers playing forward tonight- could be an exciting night. Be sure to tune in!
Where: First Niagara Center
When: 7:00pm EST on Monday December 23rd 2013
If you live in the great state of New York, you can stay at home tonight and tune into MSG-B for all your game night needs. Since the game is a 7 p.m. start, MSG should be kicking off its pre-game coverage at 6:30 p.m. For our Canadian fans if Rich’s idea of rabbit ears and tin foil failed, you can always tune into Bell TV for coverage of tonight’s game. If you’re looking to catch the game in the Phoenix area you’ll need to tune into FS-A Plus for your game needs.
But wait! You can always use NHL Gamecenter to watch out-of-market games on your phone, tablet, or computer. I used to subscribe to Gamecenter, and really loved the experience. If you have Satellite or cable TV, I believe the equivalent is NHL Center Ice. Of course, if you have not subscribed to those services yet, you have to set up and account and shell out some cash, but it’s a small price to pay if you cannot get Sabres hockey where you.
It’s also a good idea to get the official Buffalo Sabres app in order to have access to live updates and breaking news. The app is in the iTunes and Google Play stores – download it now! And if you are really desperate, head over to WGR 550 or MSG-B Radio to listen to the game call.
Will the flu defeat the Buffalo Sabres or can the Sabres battle hard to defeat the flu? Tune in to find out!
