Sabres - 'Yotes: Fan Chatter

Sabres fans, have you been naughty or nice?

I’d say that I hope you’ve been nice, since that might get you a Sabres win tonight, but truth be told, I find naughty people way more interesting!  Must be because I’m such a nice guy; hearing naughty people regale me with their tales allows me to live vicariously through them!

Anyway, the Buffalo Sabres host the Phoenix Coyotes tonight, in what will be the first of two meetings between these teams this season (and the first time these two teams have met since November 19, 2011.

What that means is that these two teams are going to spend most of the first period trying to feel each other out, before making some adjustments and getting down to business in the second and third frames.   The Sabres need to be ready to help their netminder out; Phoenix averages 32 shots and 3 goals per contest.  However, the ‘Yotes also surrender around 3 goals per night, so he Sabres will have their chances to put the puck in the net.

I’m excited to watch the game tonight because I want to catch Mikkel Boedker in action.  Boedker was the focus of one of the entries in my Wish List series, and the speedster has made me look like a genius (as if I needed help with that), as he has gone off for 10-14-24 so far this season.  I hope the Sabres are aware of when he is on the ice tonight, because Boedker’s speed will burn them if they are not ready.

Questions to ponder:

1. Who scores first?  Team AND player!

2. How many shots on goal do the Sabres log tonight?

3. Will I be lucky enough to see Boedker score tonight?

Get in the conversation below, and let’s go Sabres!!!
