Good morning all – how was your Christmas?  Hopefully those of you who celebrate the holiday had a wonderful time with family and friends

and got everything you asked for.  We continue the holiday hockey blackout today and tonight as the National Hockey League picks up action tomorrow resuming the regular season.  The next forced break will be the Olympic break in February.

Here are your daily dose of links about the Buffalo Sabres and maybe a few about the National Hockey League.

Shawn Thorton got his Christmas present from the National Hockey League – Gary Bettman upheld his 15 game suspension.  Thorton now has one more chance at appeal, going to a third party arbitrator neutral to the cause.  Thorton will probably appeal because the Bruins organization feels they can do no wrong.  [Boston Globe].

NHL defends referee’s in a decision that helped a Buffalo team?  Hell did officially freeze over because it was seasonally warm in Buffalo the night of the game, and the world woke up to several inches of snow on the ground for Christmas.  [Bleacher Report].
