Sabres - Capitals: Fan Chatter

Welcome to another game day, my friends!

The Buffalo Sabres are taking on the Washington Capitals in a 5 p.m. dinner date.  The last time I made a joke about how inconvenient these 5 o’clock games are, a reader told me I wasn’t much of a hockey fan, so I’ll leave the mock complaints out of this thread.  Wouldn’t want to be accused of that today!

This match-up promises to be a high-scoring affair, as Washington gives up right around 3 goals per game, and the Sabres will be facing Alex Ovechkin and Nicklas Backstrom.  Good luck, Buffalo!

The Sabres player to watch out for today is Drew Stafford, who currently leads all Sabres players with 13 points in 21 games against the Caps.  However, you should know that Tyler Ennis has scored at least one point in each of his last four games against Washington, while Marcus Foligno has scored points in his last three against them.

Yep – I do research when it behooves me!

Questions to consider:

1. Out of the three players I mentioned, will anyone remain hot against Washington and score tonight?

2. How many points are in store for Zemgus Girgensons tonight?

3. Final score?

I will try to check back in later and respond to what you have shared, so make your picks and let’s see who is top dog for tonight!
