Good morning and happy game day to all fans of the Buffalo Sabres form coast to coast. Today is a beautiful Saturday
because the Buffalo Sabres are back in action and in my experience Saturday night’s with hockey make the best Saturday nights! Make sure you finish all your chores and homework because tonight you have a date with your TV and the Sabres.
Before we can get to game day news, it’s time to take a lap around the NHL and see what stories you have missed so you don’t feel out in the dark.
We’ll begin our journey with a little Olympic talk, or Olympic snub talk. Martin St. Louis was not named to team Canada, and the real kicker, his own GM picked the team. However, St. Louis has turned the snub into a goal scoring festival as he proves he deserved a spot. [Bleacher Report]
The Buffalo Sabres are working on the little things as they look to snap their 5 game losing streak. What are these little things? Passing and finding out ways to keep a lead. [WGR 550]
For everyone who headed to the official Winter Classic on January 1st in hopes of helping the NHL break a Guinness World Record we have disappointing news. Due to the fact some people arrived late and did not have their tickets officially scanned with the opening crowd, the NHL did not get credit for their World Record attempt at having the most people watch a hockey game. [Puck Daddy]
Here’s some video of a possible drunk goaltender attempting to play beer league hockey, it’s pretty amusing and maybe even better if he wasn’t drunk. [Yahoo]
Have a great Saturday and be sure to check back here as the day goes on for all your latest game day needs!
