The Buffalo Sabres (13-29-7) take to the road to try and solve some of their woes that have put them on this losing streak stretching back to January 12 against the Washington Capitals. After three straight at home, Buffalo now buses into Ohio tonight to play the Columbus Blue Jackets (26-20-4).
This will be the third and final meeting between the Blue Jackets and Sabres this season – and Buffalo is 0-1-1 against Columbus, while being outscored 8-4.
Buffalo has plenty of opportunities for growth, both offensively and defensively, but they need their goaltending to be solidified. Ryan Miller has not looked comfortable in the net for several games – and Jhonas Enroth is beginning to look uncomfortable as well.
With a change in defense – the team might respond. Chad Ruhwedel is in tonight making his debut with the Sabres this season.
A tale of polar opposites takes to the ice tonight as the hotter than ever Columbus Blue Jackets look to extend their franchise record eight game winning streak. While Buffalo is winless in its last five games, despite scoring three goals in its last three outings.
Buffalo needs to be wary of the Blue Jackets- who have won most of their games on this streak at home, feeding off the home crowd, and playing a very fast game – kind of reminds you of the Buffalo Sabres of early 2000 right?
