How can you go from beating one of the hottest teams in the league one night impressively – -to totally tanking the next?  Oh that’s right – the Buffalo Sabres.  The artic chill that has closed schools again in the 716 must have frozen my normal brain functions.  Either way, no rest for the wicked as the Buffalo Sabres skate right into the Washington Capitals next on another back to back night.  What team shows up?  I got the over/under on the same team that showed up against the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Anyway, here are your morning links.

Last night’s problem was respect, and too much of it early on.  [WGR550].

Ryan Miller may have to stay in Buffalo – whether he likes it or not, and it may be his best option.  [Rant Sports].

The Buffalo Sabres have put Ryan Miller’s name in play – but is that a negotiation ploy or has he told the team the end is near? [CBS Sports].

Is Minnesota even interested in Ryan Miller at what the Buffalo Sabres value him at? [Hockey Wilderness].

According to some – the Washington Capitals are not a good fit either for Ryan Miller. [RMNB].

It is no surprise the NHL wants its players to have nothing to do with the Pyeongchang Olympics in 2018 – in a country that is near one of the most unstable regimes in the world, but security concerns have kept NHL players from taking family to see them skate for their country – and now the NHL may be looking at keeping its players home too?  Serious security threats to the Sochi games have the NHL considering it.  Nothing like giving these countries notice to have an effective plan B for their Olympic hockey rosters.
