An Open Letter To Ryan Miller

Dear Mr. Ryan Miller,

Ryan Miller (30)

It has been a privilege to watch you over the years in Buffalo blue & gold! I suppose I can’t forget the days that it was black & red, back when you  first started your career with the Sabres! In whatever jersey you wore for the Sabres; home, away, blue & gold, red & black, the goofy looking third jersey, you always stood on your head for Buffalo!

I would like to personally thank you for the years of success that the Sabres did have, even though we are a few years removed now, I still remember the good times this Sabres club had. Now we have moved into some dark days, and it is time for them to get even darker, as you will most likely be leaving the Sabres to join another team. I don’t blame you, I actually would say that I respect you more, because you could have easily left a few years ago when things were starting to get rough.

I know you haven’t left yet, but it seems inevitable that you will, rumors have been surrounding your name this whole season. The final stage of your departure has arrived as well, the Sabres hired Tim Murray – a GM that most likely wants to make a name for himself during his tenure with the Sabres, and it will most likely start with a blockbuster trade with you involved.

I am not going to lie, I have been a strong advocate of this trade, and I personally can’t wait for it to happen. A part of me thinks that you feel the same way at times too. I mostly want this trade to occur for you though, you deserve a better team in front of you, a team that can compete each and every night. I am crossing my fingers that you get traded to a Western conference team – that is assuming Murray isn’t a moron.

I don’t want to drag this out, and I will leave you with a simple quote from Charles Dickens…

It was the best of times, it was the worst of times…

Thank you for your time in Buffalo, you will be greatly missed!

P.S. Good luck on your future endeavors, I will be rooting for you and whatever team you join if you make the playoffs!
