Sabres 3 Stars Vs Avalanche

The Buffalo Sabres did not play well against the Avalanche in Colorado today, dropping the game 7-1. I didn’t see many, if any, stellar individual efforts by Sabres players – so, I will keep this one short and simple.

#3 – Chad Ruhwedel

I am giving Ruhwedel the third spot for being the only Buffalo defenseman who didn’t end up with a negative plus/minus today. I don’t know how he did it, but he did. He also led the blueliners with 3 shots on goal.

#2 – Zenon Konopka

I have decided on Konopka for the second star solely for the fact that he gave us some entertainment and something to cheer for amidst a completely lousy game. Konopka got into a lengthy and spirited fight with Cody McLeod early in the 3rd period.

#1 – Matt D’Agostini

You know how this works. D’Agostini earns the top star selection by default because he scored a goal, and it was the only one the Sabres could muster against Semyon Varlamov today.
