Buffalo Sabres 3 Stars Against Ottawa Senators

Tough loss for the Buffalo Sabres tonight, as the Ottawa Senators snapped a 2-2 tie with only 20 seconds left in the game to take the win. Here are, in my opinion, the top 3 Sabres players of the game:

3. Drew Stafford

Stafford continues to shine as of late, picking up his 7th goal in his last 12 games. He scored to tie this game at 2 with only 4 minutes left, following some diligent and hard work. Stafford had numerous quality chances tonight, and it was nice to see him cash this one in. He also made a great individual effort in the 2nd period to get by the Senators D and crash the net, and earned an assist on Ennis’ goal halfway through the 3rd period.

2. Tyler Ennis

Just as Stafford shined, Ennis shined just slightly brighter, right alongside him. Ennis notched the Sabres only other goal, and was a beast most of the game. If Ennis was out there, he was almost always around the puck, which resulted in an astounding and Ovechkin-like 9 shots on goal tonight.

1. Jhonas Enroth

If you are a Sabres fan and watch the games, you have to feel bad for this guy. Enroth only has one win on the season, and that was waaaaaaaaaaay back in October. Anyone just glancing at stats might assume that he is a terrible goaltender, which isn’t the case at all. In the majority of games that Enroth has been in, he has kept the Sabres in the games and played to a high level. Jhonas stopped 33 of 36 shots tonight, and unfortunately, the 36th shot was a heartbreaker that got by him with only 20 seconds remaining.
