Buffalo Sabres - Dallas Stars: Fan Picks!

Afternoon, Buffalo Sabres suckers, I mean fans!

What an interesting weekend in the 716, eh?  Ryan Miller, Steve Ott and Pat LaFontaine – gone.  Never thought we’d lose a member of the front office as the trade deadline approached, but these Buffalo Sabres sure like to keep us on our toes!

How much of the upheaval, and the rumors swirling about Matt Moulson not participating in the morning skate, will affect the team tonight?  You know what they say: you’ll have to tune in and find out!

As far as our friendly competition here at Sabre Noise goes, I have fallen a bit behind with the tallying up the picks from the last two games.  Busy weekend, but I have not forgotten!  I do want to encourage new readers to get involved, so if tonight’s winner has never won a round before, the bonus for winning will be 50 points!

Here we go!

Questions to Consider:

1.  Tonight, I’m setting the over/under at 5.5.  What do you think – will the Sabres and Stars combine to score 5 or less, or 6 or more?  5 points.

2. Tonight I’m feeling stingy, so pick TWO (2) players from EACH team (not just the Sabres or the Stars).  Who you feel will score ANY points at all.  10 points if one of your players scores the first goal of the game; 5 points if a player scores any goal after the first; 2 points for a second goal; 20 points for a player who gets a hattie; and 1 point for any assists the player tallies.

3. Within 3, how many saves does Jhonas Enroth make tonight?  5 points.

4. Finally, who wins, and what is the final score?  5 points for winner, 7 points for closest to final.

Let’s get those picks in before the 8 o’clock hour!
