Buffalo Sabres Daily Dasherboard March 4, 2014

The Buffalo Sabres failed to beat the Dallas Stars in two meetings, in fact last night the play of the Buffalo Sabres landed Lindy Ruff his 600th career win.  Wouldn’t those words have been sweeter if it were a Sabres win that brought about that fact?

The Sabres had their three game winning streak snapped, but still have a three game home winning streak in tact.  With two days off the Buffalo Sabres will carry the torch to Florida where they will play two against the Tampa Bay Lightning and Florida Panthers later this week.  Oh and the trade deadline is just over a day away.

Pat Lafontaine’s departure looks bad, but isn’t an ominous sign of the future.  Hopefully.  [Bleacher Report].

The Buffalo Sabres and Ted Nolan need to work out this extension quickly, if it is going to happen at all. [USA Today].

Lindy Ruff gets career win number 600 against the Buffalo Sabres, the team he has most of his wins with.  [ESPN].  Congratulations to Lindy Ruff for joining the 600 club, 571 of those wins came with the Buffalo Sabres.

Ryan Miller is very open to the idea of staying in St. Louis for the foreseeable future.  [St. Louis Dispatch].

Halak’s stay in Buffalo may be a short one, as he could be turned around for more building materials for Tim Murray and the Sabres.  [CBS Sports].

Halak and Stewart made light of their first interview in Buffalo, but neither one should be getting comfortable with the amenities at the First Niagara Center.  [Buffalo News].
