Buffalo Sabres - Florida Panthers: Fan Picks!

Buffalo Sabres fans, can you believe it?

The boys in blue and gold are 4-1 since the Olympic break, and keep confounding me at every turn when it comes to my picks!  I keep picking the Sabres to lose, and paying the price as a result.

Rough times.

Tonight’s match-up doesn’t bode well for me, either: this is literally a game that could go either way, as the Florida Panthers are only 6 points ahead of the Sabres now in the standings.  In the battle of rebuilding franchises, who comes out on top tonight?  Might as well just flip a coin and commit!

Let’s see what I have cooked up for tonight.

Questions to consider:

1. Setting the over/under for this one is tricky: do I go low because these two offenses are terrible?  High because the two defenses are terrible?  This is terrible!  I’ll stick with the number I used last night: 4.5  Do the two teams combine for 4 or less, or 5 or more?  5 points.

2. Pick any four players who you think will score.

10 points for a player who notches the first goal, 5 points for any player who scores after the first goal, 2 points if the player scores a second goal, 20 points for a hattie!   It’s gotta happen sometime!

3. At the end of the night, how many points will Florida be ahead of Buffalo in the standings?  Tricky, right?

4. Who wins, and what is the final combined score?  5 points for winner, 7 points for combined score.

Participation in these friendly competitions is running low – let’s have some fun with this, folks!
