Buffalo Sabres Daily Dasherboard March 11 2014

Tonight the Buffalo Sabres face off for the first time against the Nashville Predators this season, and the Buffalo Sabres are still looking for several answers, to include what is happening with the future of interim head coach Ted Nolan.

If the Buffalo Sabres weren’t the last place team in the league with as dysfunctional a front office as this team has, the process of removing the interim tag and offering Ted Nolan a contract extension probably wouldn’t be as big a news story – but in Buffalo when you are under the microscope of the media – it will come up until a deal is struck, or cancelled.

Rostislav Klesla has nothing against the rebuilding Buffalo Sabres.  His trade to the team wasn’t the cause of his decision to leave the NHL, just the final straw in a bad year which saw him moved several times.  [CBS Sports].

Pat LaFontaine breaks his silence, but refuses to discuss what happened in the front office of the Buffalo Sabres organization prior to his departure.  [Buffalo News].

The Buffalo Sabres have done fairly well since returning from the Olympic break – but the trade deadline and many moves on deadline day have slightly transformed the organization and team.  Was trade deadline day good for the Buffalo Sabres? [The Hockey Writers].

Ted Nolan close to signing his deal citing that the process is in the “formality stage”.  Are we close to having a full time coach with a long term contract that will try to shape the future of the Buffalo Sabres? [Puck Daddy].

Rich Peverly collapses on the bench, but is in stable condition.  The National Hockey League postpones game between the Dallas Stars and Columbus Blue Jackets.  The game was just over six minutes in, and Columbus held a 1-0 lead on the Stars.  The National Hockey League will make an announcement on the future of the game at a later time.  [FanSided].
