Buffalo Sabres - Carolina Hurricanes: Fan Picks!

Blizzard buddies Carolina and Buffalo meet up for last time tonight, this time in the relative safety of Raleigh, North Carolina.

So far, these two teams have each won a game against the other, but it is worth noting that the Hurricanes have really struggled since play resumed following the Olympic break, having lost six of eight games.

The Buffalo Sabres, on the other hand, are 4-4-0 following the break – not amazing, but respectable.  Of course, the Sabres are also 1-4 in their last five games, having scored a grand total of seven goals during that stretch.  Interim coach Ted Nolan was frustrated enough yesterday that he made the team skate hard during practice before he left early, so we’ll see if his team responds with a W tonight.

I know I need to get you all some updated standings in our race for the free t-shirt, and hopefully my job will allow me to do that today!  Check back in to see if I have added some current standing to this post.  Until then . . . double points!

Questions to consider:

1. Let’s set the over/under at 5.5 tonight.  Will these two teams combine to score 5 or less, or 6 or more, huh?  10 points.

2. Pick any four players and watch your point total explode!  20 points for the player who scores the first goal!  10 points for any player who simply scores!  4 points for a second goal!  40 points for a player who scores a hat-trick!  Exclamation points for everyone!!!

3. How many Sabres players notch points tonight?  10 points to whoever is closest to the actual total.

4. Who wins, and what will the combined score be?  10 points for picking the winning team, and 14 for closest to combined score.

Double the points, double the fun!  And if you’ve never done this before, why not start now?  It’s not all about the free t-shirt, so forget the standings and hop in!
