For the Buffalo Sabres, the rest of the season is all about playing spoiler to some playoff-hopeful teams. Last night’s effort in St. Louis was okay, but in the end, not enough to take home the two points. The Sabres will have to regroup quickly and get ready to face the Red Wings tonight, one of seven games on deck for this Friday evening.


Jake McCabe became the 44th player to suit up for the Sabres this season when he made his NHL debut on Thursday in St. Louis. He played about 16 minutes in his debut. [WQOW]

After last night’s game, Ted Nolan reported that Marcus Foligno will be out the remainder of the season. He suffered a lower-body injury less than two minutes into Thursday’s game and did not return. [Die By The Blade]

Sabres prospect Nikita Zadorov was named a finalist for OHL Defenseman of the Year. Zadorov and fellow Sabres prospect Brady Austin begin their second round playoff series against Guelph tonight. [Ontario Hockey League]
