EA Sports has released the first trailer for this falls release of their annual title for the National Hockey League. For many next generation game console owners, the release of this game couldn’t come fast enough.
When NHL 14 was released, many were saddened by the news that if you owned an XBOX One or Playstation 4 – you would have to wait until NHL 15 comes out to play your favorite game. The official countdown has commenced.
Here is the trailer released by the company.
While the trailer doesn’t give us much in the lines of how game play will look, it teases the effects of the game and what we could be in store for as we bring the quest for the Cup into our living rooms.
Secondary to the release of the game by EA Sports is the fan voting for who will adorn the cover of NHL 15.
EA Sports has selected 8 players that fans can vote for here. Players include T.J. Oshie, P.K. Subban, Phil Kessel, Erik Karlsson, Patrice Bergeron, Matt Duchene, Drew Doughty, and Logan Couture.
Voting on the first eight names to bring in down to the final four will go until May 18th.
I still think that sports games are a money suck, getting you to invest upwards of fifty dollars annually for marginally different engines and graphics from year to year, with little resell value once the new game comes out. Will that change with the next generation consoles? Will those still working on the previous generation of systems like the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 get the same game as they had last year but in a new package?
Will Buffalo Sabres fans ever see one of their own grace the cover of a future edition of the game?
While I don’t want to – I will still shell out the money to upgrade the game, depending on my first chance to test it out (I am on Xbox 360), it will all depend on how the game comes out.
