Good morning Buffalo Sabres fans. Our thoughts are still with those affected by this spring flooding in the southern points of Sabres Nation. We are all hoping for a quick dryout for you! Here are some morning links for your reading enjoyment.

Zenon Konopka has been suspended 20 games by the National Hockey League after testing positive for a banned substance. [The Post Standard].
You have to wonder if their is an appeal process in place for this type of suspension. I mean, sure, he tested positive, but if his statement is true that he took something over the counter, then why not let him appeal? Let the league here his side of the case as well.
He is an easy target to make an example of for the NHL though. With twelve goals and thirty points in his almost 350 game NHL career, he is more known for his 1082 minutes spent in the penalty box.
If it was performance enhancing, it sure as hell wasn’t helping his offense any.
Sure it is the Worlds and not the Olympics, so the rosters are widely different, except for Latvia, who doesn’t carry that many NHL names anyways, but could this further the argument for Latvian doping scandal that started in the Olympics – or has Ted Nolan really helped build up this second rate national team with motivation and hard work?
Team Latvia has never placed higher than 7th in the tournament (something they have done three times). Can this year be the first time ever that Team Latvia medals?
The closer we get to the end of the Stanley Cup Playoffs, the more details are emerging with Seattle coming out as a clear front runner for a new NHL franchise – or at least a relocated one. [CBS Sports].
It is inevitable that the NHL is going to expand. They set themselves up for it with the awkward realignment to appease the Red Wings and the Blue Jackets. I think the Pacific will get another team first, and then fans in the mid-West will get a team as well.
