Buffalo Sabres Development Camp Announced

The Buffalo Sabres announced today the schedule for their development camp.

For the third straight year the Buffalo Sabres will install their ice at First Niagara Center in the summer to host the developmental camp at the mothership and capital of Hockey Heaven on the waterfront.

Camp will convene at First Niagara Center from July 14-18 and include off ice and on ice workouts.  The workouts are designed to show Buffalo Sabres prospects the rigors of an NHL camp and training regime.

The Buffalo Sabres have published a tentative schedule of practices and scrimmages that will be open to the public.

Developmental camp includes the annual Blue & Gold scrimmage on July 15th which pits Buffalo Sabres prospects against one another.

Developmental camp will be the first time that Buffalo Sabres fans will be able to see whomever the Buffalo Sabres select with the second overall draft pick in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft.

On top of seeing the Buffalo Sabres highest first round draft pick since Pierre Turgeon – it will be the first developmental camp and training camp situation run by Ted Nolan and whomever his coaching staff will be.  It will also be the first developmental/training camp without the likes of Jim Corsi – former goaltender coach who was with the organization for the past fourteen years.

It is nice to see the 2014-2015 schedule start to take shape with the announcement of developmental camp the official start to the upcoming season.

Are you looking forward to seeing developmental training camp – or are you patiently waiting for the following season when the roster starts to take more shape outside of the rebuilding phase.
