The Buffalo Sabres are counting down the days to the NHL draft where they have the second overall pick. [Fox Sports News].
So the Buffalo Sabres are a little excited about opening up the next chapter in the organizations life. Is that so wrong? Maybe I am being a little over sensitive. Maybe we have gotten to the point where there is a such a void of news that is hockey related that Fox Sports thinks a tweet from the Sabres is newsworthy.
Forget the fact that any team who had a poor season is excited for the draft, especially when the team hasn’t drafted this high in over 20 years.
Its bad enough we have a cape on our third jersey. This author should be shot for even thinking about overalls.

The Buffalo Sabres should avoid big names this off season. [Bleacher Report].
Well, before I roll into the age old comment of thank you captain obvious, lets look at the facts. Tim Murray is talking about taking on bad contracts just to get another first round draft pick and get the salary cap floor. I believe his actual words were “there are other ways to get to the cap floor.”
Of course the Buffalo Sabres are going to avoid the big names this off season. As excited (see above) as they are about this years draft – their will be extreme jubilation for next year when the Buffalo Sabres have three guaranteed picks, not this we want to move back into the first round for a second pick.
There are a lot of good hockey players available in free agency this year. Problem is, the Buffalo Sabres don’t want to be good next year.
Terry Pegula to be bidding on the Buffalo Bills? [WHEC Rochester].
First off, lets not get our panties in a bunch. There is an NFL rule that prohibits owners of major sports teams from owning NFL franchises in other cities. So Pegula could buy the Buffalo Bills.
It actually really doesn’t bother me if Terry Pegula wants to sink more money into Western New York. Should it? I mean it’s not like he is making the decisions on the Buffalo Sabres, he is just the money man. If he is hiring the people to make the hockey/football decision, does it matter that he owns both?
There are so many reports about potential buyers, that I think it might be a little too early for Bills fans to count their owners before they are hatched.
