The dust is settling on the 2013-2014 regular season, and most all eyes are on Philadelphia, especially if your a fan or member of the Buffalo Sabres.
One former member of the Buffalo Sabres is celebrating this summer. Former Sabres defenseman Robyn Regehr is having his name etched on the Stanley Cup this summer, having been dealt to the Los Angeles Kings for two second round draft picks in April of 2013.
Not only was Regehr a member of a Stanley Cup winning team – he was the second guy to get the Stanley Cup after it was presented, following the Los Angeles Kings 3-2 double overtime victory in game five over the New York Rangers.
The Colorado Avalanche are hoping to avoid another lengthy holdout with Ryan O’Reilly – electing to take him to arbitration. [TSN].
If the Buffalo Sabres were hoping to sign O’Reilly to an offer sheet, under the new CBA they still can. Colorado wants the arbitration hearing because O’Reilly is ending the two year deal that he signed with the Calgary Flames before the lockout season of 2012-2013. Colorado matched the offer sheet, and paid a very expensive price tag.
The offer sheet could come into play again, as the qualifying offer for the Avalanche to retain his rights is 6.5 million dollars. The Avalanche have to be hoping an arbitrator is on their side.
Silent but interested, that is the stance that Terry Pegula is taking on the possible purchase of the Buffalo Bills. [BN Blitz].
Why not buy the Bills? You already own the Buffalo Sabres, Buffalo Bandits, and the Rochester Americans. Add another team to the list. I would not doubt that if the Buffalo Bisons came up for sale, that Terry Pegula would step in and put a bid in on them.
Terry Pegula wants to be Mr. Buffalo.
