It is the week of the draft Buffalo Sabres fans – but the 2014-2015 regular season is going to approach quicker than you think. Today at 4PM the NHL will announce all team schedules. The Buffalo Sabres are set to open up the season on the road on October 9th versus the Chicago Blackhawks. [Die by the Blade].
The Chicago Blackhawks don’t have a lot to prove, but they don’t want next season to end the way this year’s did. The Buffalo Sabres want to be nearly as epic bad as they were this year to guarantee another crack at the draft lottery and the number one overall pick.
I think the home opener is a match made in heaven so the Buffalo Sabres don’t get any momentum going early in the season. Next year I think I am going to be a ‘Hawks fan.
Today at 4PM the entire schedule will be released, and this week we will break down the schedule home and away, month by month – so keep it here and get all your news from us.

If you have been living under a rock for a while, or not sure what has been happening since the end of the season, here is a top ten draft pick run down to grease your gears ahead of the draft. [Bleacher Report].
It isn’t about the Buffalo Sabres and the number two overall pick. Or should I say just about the number two pick. There is plenty to trade, and the interesting thing will be to see what Tim Murray has to do to get a second first round draft pick in this years draft.
Buffalo Sabres owner Terry Pegula is watching the development of the Buffalo Bills sale closely. [Pro Football Talk].
We gave Owens a key to the city before he did anything for the Buffalo Bills, and well, he didn’t do much after getting it. If Terry Pegula buys the Buffalo Bills to keep them in Buffalo and ensure the region’s sports foot print – should we be electing him mayor or giving him a pass for life on anything he wants to do?
