The Buffalo Sabres and general manager Tim Murray didn’t waste anytime in getting the fireworks started for the fourth of july celebrations. July 1st was a very fast paced and productive day in turning around the Buffalo Sabres franchise.
The Buffalo Bills haven’t disappointed either. A constant buzz and excitement seems to follow that team.
If you were at a celebration of the freedom of our nation last night – don’t let the celebration stop, but do it safely and responsibly.
I wanted to take a pause this morning and wish our Canadian readers a happy Canada day (I know its a few days late, but better late than never), and our American Readers a Happy Independence Day.
I was at the Buffalo Bisons BPO Independence celebration last night – my first time attending one of those. What better way to spend the birthday of America than with baseball and fireworks? I was largely impressed at the show that was put out, even if I had my moments where I thought they could do better. Kudos to the Bisons organization for the recognition of the Armed Forces throughout the day – including veterans before the game, and both active and veteran members of all five branches during the Armed Forces Medley.
If you have never seen one of these events, please do not miss out on the occasion next year. They have been doing it for 20 years, and my kids loved it so much that they for sure will be bugging me to go back again.
Whether it is a parade, fireworks, or just gathering with friends and family – enjoy the day. Take a moment to remember what your actually celebrating.
As we gather with family and friends on these holidays, please do it safely, and remember – everyone likes to have a good time – don’t spoil it by overdoing it and then getting behind the wheel of car. It is not worth ruining yours, or someone elses life for.
Happy Birthday America – Let Freedom Ring loud and proud today.
