Former Buffalo Sabres owner Tom Golisano will be allowed to bid late for the Buffalo Bills. [New York Post].
Former Buffalo Sabres Tom Golisano hasn’t reached out to the estate of Ralph Wilson – but he does have every intention on bidding on the Buffalo Bills at some point.
I don’t know if I would overly excited about that. Winning wasn’t on the agenda – breaking even or staying out of the red was. Will the same be said of the Buffalo Bills? It’s a different league, a different world altogether, so you never know.
The estate holders of Ralph Wilson – who currently own the Buffalo Bills, want the process to be as competitive as possible, and right now the bids by Terry Pegula, current owner of the Buffalo Sabres and Donald Trump are the only real viable options. The Toronto group, led by Jon Bon Jovi – have all but conceited defeat at this point.
Can Golisano match what Pegula has bid? Is Golisano in it for the long haul or is he just trying to flip another Buffalo sports franchise to keep it in the area? Still a lot of questions surrounding the Buffalo Bills.
Are you excited about the Elmira Jackals and Buffalo Sabres affiliation? We are too and here is some insight into their new head coach. [Star Gazette].
Not for nothing – but this guy on paper looks like Darcy Regier and Ron Rolston. Could never cut it as a player so I decided to cut my tail and run to the coaching side. If you can’t play the game teach others right?
Sure, the Buffalo Sabres don’t own the Elmira Jackals – so they can only have a say in what the organization does – but how long will that last? If there is no benefit to the Buffalo Sabres from a successful program at the ECHL level, you can sure bet that the Buffalo Sabres will pull up the tent pegs and go somewhere else.
Reading, PA, Toledo, OH, and Cincinnati are also close enough to Buffalo to make a relationship work. Terry Pegula could also found and establish his own ECHL club. The league is currently setup with uneven divisions/conferences – so expansion would be welcome right?
