Let’s hope the Elf On A Shelf brings some luck to Florida, Amalie Arena, to be exact.

The Buffalo Sabres, after defeating the Tampa Bay Lightning in a shootout on Tuesday, flew down to Tampa, Florida for the tail-end of their home and home with the Lightning.

Hoping to hold off the top-of-the-league Lightning, the Buffalo Sabres seem to know what they’re doing.

Starting with Enroth, Buffalo should attribute their success to the Swede. Over the past five games, Buffalo (and Enroth) boast a 4-1-0 record, with three of those wins coming from the Montreal Canadiens and Tampa Bay. Through those games, he holds a .953 save percentage, saving 183 of 192 shots faced in those games. His level-headedness and strong approach prove to be a hard fight to match.

Taking a page out of former goaltender Ryan Miller, Enroth stated, “I saw Ryan here for a couple years, he stayed after practice and worked on shootouts and that’s what I’ve been doing too.” Clearly focused on earning his pipe-time, Enroth has hit the basics by a boatload, and frankly speaking, that is all we needed. He is providing the constant support that this team needs, he is the last-line of defense and that is all you can ask.

Tonight’s match-up between the Sabres and Lightning will be broadcasted by MSG-B and Bell TV to WNY and Canadian viewers, respectively. As usual, WGR 550 picks up the radio broadcast for the blue and gold. For the Lightning, Fox Sports, or to them “Sun Sports” take over the Florida broadcast. They will be accompanied by the radio broadcast, thanks to the Tampa Bay Lightning website.

Will we see the sudden explosion that is the line of Nikita Zadorov and Rasmus Ristolainen holding down the fort. Rumor points that Josh Gorges and Tyler Myers will reunite to hold off a Steven Stamkos-led attack.

Leading the league in All-Star votes, thanks Latvia, Zemgus Girgensons has been leading the team, with others trying to play just like him. He has been a workhorse as of late, record four points (2 G’s and 2 A’s) in the past five games.

Tonight, make sure that any tweet about tonight’s game you include #ElfOnAShelf in hopes that the elf brings us some more good luck!
