Happy Holidays From SabreNoise

facebooktwitterreddit

It has been another great year for us here at SabreNoise and FanSided.  Another year we could not have done without you our constant readers!  That is why we would like to take this pause from the hectic NHL schedule and wish you a Happy Holidays!  Whatever your faith tradition heralds at this time of year, as well as a Happy New Year!

February will mark the sixth anniversary of the launch of this site, and I have been here since day one.  In that time frame we have seen highs, lows, really lows.  We have seen many writers come and go.  It has and continues to be a great ride.  We look forward to continuing to share in the Buffalo Sabres experience with you our readers, and fellow fans of the Buffalo Sabres.

Again, on behalf of the entire team, Senior Editor Tim Redinger, Editor Melissa Kania, Editor Dennis Amo, and our Staff Writers – Chris Gay, Brian Stanton, Andrew Haines, Jacob Strozyk, and Sean McGrath – please have a very safe and happy Holidays.

Thanks to Sal Capaccio of WGR, I don’t have to try and create a Twas The Night Before Christmas Buffalo style:

"‘Twas the night before Christmas and all through BuffaloDespite what happened in November, there’s no sign of any snowFor four months of football we felt the playoffs so nearNot the same in hockey. Tanking – the word of the year.Miller and Ott were moved to the Blues. Most then realized the plan was to lose. When Ralph passed in March we all began to worry.Who will save our Bills? Someone, please hurry.Bon Jovi and his band wanted to take them awayMove them to Toronto, unless someone else could payEnter the Pegulas. Sabres owners Terry and Kim.Cheering and parties all over, things were no longer dim.Now they own both teams, quite the One Buffalo link. And downtown we have Harbor Center, and a cool new outdoor rink.At the draft the Bills traded up to get Sammy. He may have seen more one on one, if not for Goodwin’s hammy. On the ice the Sabres started out pretty poor. But many fans didn’t mind, it was about the draft, not the core. While visions of McEichel danced in their heads.A winning streak happened, and some cried in their beds. For the Bills no playoffs for the 15th straight seasonQuarterback play, again, is one big reason. As the season winds down we still wonder about EJAnd what happens to free agents? Like Jerry and CJ?A lot to be determined, so we’ll all sit and waitWith new owners around, no one knows their fate. We’ll watch the Sabres play for another four monthsAnd keep debating culture, tanking, and 4th down punts.2015 looks to bring more promise and hopeThat’s the thought that always helps Buffalo fans cope.Ristolainen, Girgensons, Zadorov, too.Pretty exciting seeing what those young guys can do.For the Bills it’s Marcell, Mario, and KyleAll Pro Bowlers we hope are here for a while.Imagine: Win the draft lottery, get a stud QB, oh my what sights.Just dream about that Buffalo….and they’ll all be good nights."

So Merry Christmas to all, and to all – a safe and Happy Holidy!
