Buffalo Sabres vs. Detroit Red Wings Fan Chatter

facebooktwitterreddit

Tonight, the Buffalo Sabres face the Detroit Red Wings for the first time this season. The Sabres are heading into the month of December on a two-game winning streak, having captured 4-1 wins in each of their last two games.

Tonight’s game is the first of five meetings between the Buffalo Sabres and Detroit Red Wings this season – with the next meeting just under two weeks away – and the Sabres will have to battle hard to keep their newly-born streak alive.

If the Buffalo Sabres win tonight, it’ll be their first victory at Joe Louis Arena since October 13, 2006. Overall, the Sabres have lost three straight to the Red Wings – a stat line they’ll surely be looking to change tonight.

Without further ado, here are the updated fan chatter standings. Apologies for not having a fan chatter post the last few games, but hopefully we’re all roaring and ready to get back into the swing of things!

And here are tonight’s fan chatter questions. We’ll make it an extra good one to (hopefully) make up for those we’ve missed in the past few days!

More from Sabre Noise

  1. Who scores the first goal of the night for the Buffalo Sabres? Could it be one of the rookies, Jack Eichel, or perhaps Sam Reinhart, who had two goals just a few short days ago? Perhaps David Legwand continues his streaky ways and pots one again. Name this one correctly and we’ll give you 30 points.
  2. Matt Moulson has nine points (5-4) in his last nine games against the Red Wings. Will he keep up that streak this evening? Tell us how many points he’ll register this evening; if you’re right, we’ll give 25 points.
  3. Rasmus Ristolainen is near the top of the league in multiple categories for defensemen. Another fun fact – albeit one unrelated to the fan chatter picks – is the fact that he still has yet to receive a penalty this season. But I digress; how much ice time will Risto see tonight? Get it right within 1 minute and we’ll give 50 points. Right within 15 seconds, we’ll give you 100 points.
  4. How many power-play goals will the Buffalo Sabres score this evening against the Detroit Red Wings? 10 points for a correct answer.
  5. The Sabres have outshot their opponents in 12 of their first 24 games this season. How many shots will they put up tonight? We’ll give you 50 points if you get this one correct.
  6. Nicolas Deslauriers leads the Sabres in hits this season, with 64 to date. How many will he register this evening? 25 points for the right answer.
  7. Lots of action in the league tonight. Tell us the winners of each game: COL/NJD, CBJ/MTL, PHI/OTT, BUF/DET, FLA/STL, ARI/NSH, MIN/CHI, DAL/CGY, VAN/LAK and PIT/SJS. Ten games in all; we’ll give you 10 points per correct answer. If you get them all right, we’ll give you 125 points.
